I take music quite seriously and generally like (or at least appreciate) anything by anyone who does likewise. Though, of course, there are things that I like to listen to for pleasure which include: Henry Purcell, Mozart (operas mainly), The Beatles, medieval and renaissance choral music like Robert Fayrfax, Josquin des Prez, John Dunstaple, William Byrd and Guillaume Dufay, Benjamin Britten, Bach (obviously), Steve Reich, Olivier Messiaen, Wagner, Ligeti, Beethoven, Vaughan Williams, Michael Nyman and Monteverdi.

But music isn't just for listening to, its for playing as well. I play a bit of piano, but only bashing out Bach fugues and Beethoven sonatas to myself.

Music Writings

Here are some of my undergraduate essays. Disclaimer: at best they're wildly inaccurate and, at worst, probably complete rubbish! Just don't forget that they're only undergraduate essays.
